Abstracts 2025 Submissions!

Thank you for your submissions!  Acceptance decisions will be released after August 29th.

If you have any questions about abstract submissions, please email abstracts@sccmtexaschapter.org

Submission Criteria

Research abstracts will follow the same format at SCCM Annual Congress and will be peer-reviewed for quality by members of the Research Committee

Research will be categorized into two (2) submission categories:

  • Completed or in-progress research
  • Case reports

Authors should not “split” data to create several abstracts from one data set. If splitting is judged to have occurred, the abstract lead will reach out to the submitter and will ask that they choose which abstract they would like to have considered for the award.

Abstracts containing identical or nearly identical data submitted from the same institution will result in disqualification of all submitting individuals.

Award Criteria

Only the presenter may submit the application and must be listed as the primary author. Abstracts may be submitted starting July 1, 2025 and must be submitted by midnight (CDT), July 26, 2025.

The highest quality abstract submitted will receive 1st place and free Symposium registration, as well as up to $1000 to be used towards any SCCM or SCCM Texas chapter activities for up to 2 years following the award.

The second highest scoring abstract will receive 2nd place and free Symposium registration, as well as up to $500 to be used towards any SCCM or SCCM Texas chapter activities for up to 2 years following the award.

Approved SCCM or SCCM Texas chapter activities include:

  • SCCM Texas Chapter Membership Registration Fees
  • SCCM Texas Annual Symposium Registration Fees
  • SCCM Membership Registration Fees
  • SCCM Congress Registration Fees

All abstracts accepted for presentation will be given a free 1-day registration on their presentation day.

Selection Process

If accepted, your abstract will be presented as a 4-minute powerpoint research snapshot platform presentation. Free 1-day registration to Symposium will be awarded. Additionally, the abstract will be considered for one of two awards for Best Symposium Abstract.

Please email abstracts@sccmtexaschapter.org if you have any questions regarding abstract submission.
